I absolutely love Mexican food and I was so excited to check this place out. So excited that we actually went here 3 times in one week, each time bringing another friend along.
First off, if you are in the mood for a unique delicious margarita this is your stop! There are well over 20 different types of margaritas. You could keep ordering all day along! The bartenders are very nice and do let you know what's popular! Make sure to ask what their drink of the day/week is I believe it's always rotating.
We have eaten dinner at the bar and at the table. Both were great experiences. The food is straightforward classic Mexican. There are plates, burritos, chips, salsa, guacamole, tortas. You really can't go wrong. I was a huge fan of the cauliflower plate! You can also order warm tortillas! Right next door there is another bar you can check out if you need to wait!
Overall a wonderful establishment. We did get to meet the owner and he did a great job explaining his inspiration behind the restaurant. They truly try to make it a great experience for their customers! We will be back! -

What a cool little joint to happen upon!
I was on business and thought I'd spin the Yelp Wheel of Fortune and boy did I score big with Peso!
A quaint little place that has a great drink assortment and some rather tasty food items!
I will admit their price for a Topochico is a little high considering I have a refrigerator stocked with them at home. But after all this was Detroit and not Austin TX so I'll let it go.
I ordered Fajitas - yep I did. I could have chosen something more original or flavorful but if you can do Fajitas then most will come for those. Which I can say they did most amazingly of course.
The drinks I had are all forgotten now however the menu was from another planet even for someone who travels as much as I do. This was a high point for me and I think many should go out of their comfort zone to give their concoctions a whirl.
Great place, I'll visit next time in Detroit for sure. Best of luck to Peso! -

Food is underwhelming - drinks were pretty good. If you are a foodie or just like good Mexican food you are not going to be satisfied here. The salsa lacks flavor and is somewhat on the sour side. The chips were fresh and were fine but anything good about them was lost with the tasteless salsa. Every dish seemed to be lacking the explosive flavors that I associate with Mexican food. The drinks were good and pretty strong - no complaints. The staff were very nice and our service was very good.
All in all, I can not recommend this restaurant. -

First time coming here; I was not disappointed. The tacos doraditos were amazing; I would recommend getting the chicken, the beef was just average. The chicken tortilla soup was so delicious. The chicken in it was ok, but the rest of the soup parts were perfect. And the mango margarita with habanero was excellent.

Absolutely loved our first experience at the quaint Peso in Detroit! Best discovery - the street elote, off the cob for a not so messy corn experience. Best surprise - the chicken wings.... On special the night we went but hopefully will become an everyday menu item. So meaty and delicious. Best value - the burrito. Wow, so fresh and huge - took half of it home! Had a great conversation with one of the owners while sitting at the namesake bar. Great and impressive drink menu. Can't wait to go again!
